We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior/Principal Drainage Engineer to lead the drainage engineering team. This pivotal role will involve spearheading the design, implementation, and management of complex drainage systems for large-scale infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in hydraulic aid hydrologic analysis, regulatory compliance, project management, and team leadership.
You will be able to
Develop strategic plans for drainage engineering projects, outlining objectives, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to drainage, stormwater management, and environmental protection.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consulting with them to understand their needs, providing technical guidance, and ensuring project objectives are met.
Review and approve drainage designs, calculations, and construction plans to ensure accuracy, functionality, and alignment with project goals.
The Senior/Principal Drainage Engineer will work primarily in an office setting, with occasional travel to project sites and client meetings. The position may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions and construction sites during field visits
Ideally you will tick most of the below
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
In-depth knowledge of relevant design software, including MicroDrainage, SWMM, and AutoCAD.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead teams and engage with clients and stakeholders.
Proven experience in drainage design, stormwater management, and hydraulic/hydrologic modelling
Experience with sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and green infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of specific industry sectors, such as transportation, water resources, or land development.
